My digital camera is to blame for the poor shots ! but here is one of the 18MM that was my fathers. I think it is over 75 years old for he had it before I was born and I am past 70. ::groove::

Here is the tang on a Marbles I traded off a year or so ago.
I don't know when it was made.

Hi Dale:
Your old knife that now resides with me is a marbles maverick it has a woodcraft blade and it has it's own sheath with a stears horns on it. It was made more than likely in the early 60's. I found some docs. on it with photo if interested dated 1962.

I purchased a copy of the book The Encyclopedia of Marbles by Arni Dunathan it is a good book. I feel that my stag woodcraft is 1925 or maybe a little older.

How recent does the book go? Does it cover Stewart-era Marble's or just the old stuff?

gmusic, It is a stag pommel and the handle is 3 3/4" long from top of guard to top
of pommel. Sorry about the lateness of the replay, I forgot.

I cannot tell by your pics, but if the A in Marble's
serif is facing to to the right, its 1940's to early 50's
That would be the middle line in the A that crosses it

They used the left facing serif A on knives in the
1911-1930 era
So, if it faces left,,
Its a old one and a real beauty at that !!!
