French folders…

Post by MarkMcM »

A pair of French pull-rings, a monstrous Couvreux and a somewhat more manageable Tarry-Levigne. Have been fascinated with these ever since seeing several photos of WWI French troops carrying them….

Interesting folders. I have one similar to the smaller one, unmarked but it may be French. ::shrug:: viewtopic.php?t=60822. The Navaja clasp knife is thought to be of Spanish-Moorish origin but I’m sure they’re made in other areas of Europe also. Always found that ring-pull mechanism interesting.

Nice one Joe! First “toenail” I’ve seen by a foreign maker (other than the recent Chinese copies). Any idea how old that one is?

Thank you, Ken.

I have no idea how old it is. I've had it for several years and I believe I tried to do research (not extensive) on it but I never found anything about it.
I don't think there are a lot of French "Toe Nails" to be had.
I'm happy to have this one.
