for Christmas, I receive this model, not very common - this is a victorinox for cheeses ( a limited edition asked by the swiss cheese association) - handles are in frosted (?) horn

pic 1- later soldier shield......... (far right knife is a MOD by me...kinda melting ice look when polished up)

pic 2-key ring style....nothing...........bail

pic 3-date tang stamp....soldiers have the date made stamped on back side of main blade

pic 4-most are victorinox....but WENGER makes some too :wink:

RED ALOX

these pix are to show a few things

difference in new and pocket worn RED

SHIELDS= new red is a pioneer.......one old red is a PIONEER and one is a SOLDIER!!!!!

on the 2 old RED ones....the shields are same...BUT to tell one is a SOLDIER the tang is DATE STAMPED
makes other a EARLY PIONEER

early pioneers and soldiers had BRASS LINERS

some had key ring liners.....some DID NOT

hope that helps a little ::shrug:: ::super_happy::
