hey MATTY!
here is my BEST shot at em. :wink:

1st one- OFFICERS knife -that tang stamp is 1884-1909...prolly right about 1900 IMO ::tu::
fibre scales

2nd one-SPORTSMANS knife-tang stamp is 1943-1950(victoria w/ crossbow)
INTERESTING KNIFE TO ME:
cool advert etch
this knife was made by Swiss for the Swiss market ,in a OLDER style.....IMO
if was made for export IMO would look totally different....more of what we think of now,but with the pins expose through the scale...i have a few.....i will try to post a pic for comparison
THIS KNIFE IMO= ww2 era knife made in the 1884-1910-20ish STYLE.

HOPE THIS HELPS matty ::handshake::

Thanks JB, great information to have. I don't own any at present but with all the displays and discussion, I might be in the market. Saw a vintage black officer's model, (had alot of bells and whistles) very nice sheath with pencil and notepad on ebay 'bout 4 months or so ago, missed out in the auction. If you have heard of such, please let me know. Thanks again, Rocky ::tu::

I found this uncommon knife at a flea marrket for $2. It is called an Excelisor. The Pocket pal is the other verison. The difference is the keyring, I believe this knife is no longer made. ftd

You might be mistaking that GAK with the Mauser GAK. The Mauser GAK has a 3rd blade as seen here. The standard 2 blade GAK was made by many different manufacturers, undoubtedly Victorinox models are superior to the rest. The Mauser GAK was only made by Victorinox and it had the word Mauser in white on the shield area of the knife. The current modern GAK is the same as what the Swiss Army carry, a 111mm design with special German Army Eagle scales.

Yes, I own them both as well as all that you see on my blog. Been collecting SAK's for over 10 years now. I really have too many. ::cb::
