Casexx canoe,value ?

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

The canoe looks to be a USA or dotted knife made before they started "canoe etching" the master blade in 1974. The blades look dark in the picture but relatively full. A quick eBay search says about $30 to $40 U.S. if no handle cracks or unseen issues with the knife.

This is the thing jerry,i had a newer non year stamped soldier a will back but decided to sell it,then i found this one at a car boot sale for £9 and its got 91 stamped on it,now ive got no sentimental attachment to that year and would love one with 70 on it for my birth year but there harder too find, but i kind of regret selling my other soldier so now think was it fate finding this one ::hmm::

Yeah and would you be more happy with that Case or would you regret trading off the Wenger like you regret the Soldier? Easy decision if it were me because I'm not a Case fan nor am I a fan of Canoes. I don't see the attraction of either one but that's just me. Your mileage will vary.

As y'all say over there in the land of Bangers & Mash, cheers.

There ya go 'Z'. That's probably the way you wanted to go all along. It's easy to get caught up in the moment. In stores, I practice the "carry test" when I happen on a possible impulse purchase. I pick it up and carry it around the store with me while I look at other things. When I'm ready to go, if it has the same allure as when I picked it up, I buy it. If not, I say "naaah" and take it back where I found it.

Lol i dont understand the bangers bit :D

Ive got a few swiss army knives as find them handy,in fact my Swisschamp saved the day at my girls birthday party but thats another story  i prefere slipjoints in general as more traditional and very tactile, but i do like wengers and victorinox alox range as very solidly made, some folk collect every year stamp from 1962 but thats pretty expensive, each to there own ::tu::
