Is there a reason why the small blade on Case/Winchester #52091 Stag would be stamped #62091?

If it is a Prototype, it seems to be common for protos to have some unusual triat, whether it be the placement of blades or the handle number being incorrrect for the knife, such as bone handled protos have the prefix "7" instead of "6". I would say on a stag prototype it would be common for the number not to be "5"

If you can, please post some pictures. 2 bladed stag Case/ Winchester knives are rather rare .... I've only seen one or two.

Cloudy ...... VERY NICE knife you have there !!!!! I'm impressed.
I've got a 62091 Case/Winchester ... I'll have to see if I can find the pics for it for a comparison ... yours is much nicer !!!!
Great find.

Great looking knife there, Mike - it's one of my favorites...cloudy wrote:Is there a reason why the small blade on Case/Winchester #52091 Stag would be stamped #62091?
your question is a good one... the 2091's began as a honey bone production in the thousands for members of Blade. The deal fell through before all of the knives were assembled allowing for scale variations. The blades, already produced, were used as is - all W/C 2091 secondary blades will be stamped 62091.
