Christmas 2009 Knife Giveaway - redrummd Stone Work

Post by Bryan »

Dec. 1 today  ... Christmas is on the way and 2009 is winding down :D I'm glad to have the oportunity to share another Christmas season and New Year with the fantastic members of AAPK ::ds::

For our 2009 December Christmas drawing. Mike (redrummd) Hoover has done it again. He donated another fantastic piece of artwork for one lucky member to win and put into their collection. ::drool:: It is a Case 6250 Elephant Toenail knife rehandled with Deschutes Picture Jasper stone slabs. Mike does amazing work and these slabs are just plain stunning in hand. I'll let the pictures do the talking, but I must say that pictures do not do the knife full justice...

This drawing will be determined on Christmas Evening.

Instructions for entering the giveaway are under the pictures. Good Luck and many thanks to Mike!

MR.HOOVER very awesome! after your done with the stone slabs
the scales should be called SUNSET CANYON BROWN.

looking at the scales reminds me of horsebacking through
canyon areas in the deserts of AZ. how the stone walls
looked as the sun set on them. ::tu::

very awesome. thanks mike. what a perfect day to win such a beautiful knife.
you have already made someone's Christmas that much better! ::nod::

To all who have been so kind - Thank you very much. The kindness of your comments is so rewarding to me that it makes the donation of the knife pale in comparison. I am so very fortunate to be able to spend my days in my lapidary as young as I still feel at only 57. I have been fortunate to have already been retired for over two years through a lot of very hard work for over 36 years, and being wise in investing too....

Always "pay yorself first"..... For all the 36+ years I worked I saved and invested 1/2 of all I earned in overtime just working for the Post Office. Just my personal advice to all of you. Debt is your enemy, and savings - your friend and future.

Those are some great words to live by, I too could have retired at 52 years but as fortune has it I was let go after 21 years with the same company and had to start all over.
It is never to late for a new start!
