I have not yet been able to get ahold of the winner  . I've pm'd and emailed, but have not yet received a response.

If anyone knows this lucky fella/gal , please tell him/her to check in.

The longer I have this knife in my posession, the harder it's going to be to let go ::tear::

::hmm:: Wonder what happens if the winner never surfaces ::sneaky::

I couldn't do that. ::hmm:: Or could I? Na, I really couldn't.

I guess we'll give more time for now. Maybe the winner is on vacation or something ::shrug:: ...

Seriously, though... This knife is just sitting here on my desk... growing on me by the day! ::sneaky:: Something's got to give

Never fear gentlemen, I have the perfect solution. If he doesn't surface to claim his prize, the next closest number in the drawing should win.....ideal solution! Seriously, why take so long to find a person for the knife. If he's not checkin in, its very likely he's a one post wonder or something. Make it easy on yourself Bryan, take my wonderful advice. I'd never steer you wrong, I promise.

With all due respect to Mr. Bodine's suggestion  I would submit that the little orphan go to a loving home where it can be treated with kindness and love. I am prepared to make room in my heart and my home for such a sweet little thing. Send it on Bryan knowing that it will never want for anything here with me.
No thanks necessary, just doing what I can to help.

Phil

I got an idea. If the winner cant be found, after an appropriate amount of time, put it up in the "Knife Forum Auctions" or auction it in off in the chat room. With proceeds going to AAPK, of course. Just a thought. Thank You for all the work you do for this great site Bryan, administrators and moderators. A+ ::tu:: ::tu::

I believe that Smoke makes a very valid point concerning knife giveaways won by members who input very little. It has been about 1 year since I signed up and this post makes a grand total of 17. I have purposely not entered any of the knife giveaways for this reason. Though I really wish I had entered the Christmas 2009 one, beautiful knife. I appreciate the points made by Dale (orvet) and have been trying to post more in recent months. I read a lot (every day) but log in very seldomly (until lately). Perhaps a system similar to BladeForums or IKC, where you have to log in to read posts might help out.
Truth is that with my paltry assemblage of knives and very large lack of knowledge, I am somewhat overawed by the depth of knowledge and collections put forward by other members who frequently post. That said, I am resolved to become a more active member this year.

Danno,
I just read another of your posts on another thread and methinks you know more than you think you do.

The main thing is that you enjoy and learn.
I didn't know much about Schrade when I went on line to buy one 5 or 6 years ago, but I learned by reading and by asking questions.

I do appreciate your input! ::tu:: ::tu::

Bryan,

If the winner does not step forward within a reasonable amount of time I suggest going to the next closest number. I would guess that a couple of weeks is a reasonable amount of time to give for a response. Heck, it was intended as a Christmas knife.. ::dang::

I would think that picking another lottery drawing date would be better. In any raffle you do a redraw if no winner comes forth. Just my opinion.

Well, I agree and the next holiday that shows on my calendar is Martin Luther King Day on Jan. 18. Seems to me that nearly a month is more than enough. ::shrug:: ::shrug::

I have not received a response from the winner, yet.

I'll email & PM them one more time. I guess we might go ahead and wait about a week after that... ::shrug::

Heck. I don't know. I vote that Mike gets the final say on what to do with the knife given that he donated it...

If that's the Case, Jethro Bodine might just be the luckiest dog on AAPK!!! He was second closest ::nod::

How lucky can a boy be? I haven't checked in for a while and I look to see I won. From the pictures I'm sure I'll be floored when I see it. I'll send another email after I get it in my hot little hands.
