Indiana Knife Show

Post by just bob »

This has been growing a bit every year. Last year there was a good turn out. Maybe not worth driving hundreds of miles for, but good for locals. If you've never seen Jim Minnick's knives check out his web site.

I'll bump this back up and remind you to take a look at the Minnick web site.. His work is featured in some of the newer knife books and his wife just had a bronze bust dedicated to some time of coal mining museum in Kentucky. Talented people.

The Indiana knife show went off without a hitch. There was a steady stream of visitors from opening until about 2:00 pm when the heat index was well above 100 degrees. Many knife trades took place and dealer's reported above expected sales. Dealer's from both northern and southern Indiana as well bordering states were present. Custom knife makers were also present to show their new creations. All in all it was a very rounded show.

Jim and Joyce Minnick judged the table displays.

Jim is a vary talented local custom knife maker;

His wife Joyce just had her coal mining sculpture dedicated in Harlan, KY.

We were really thrilled that Ken Daniels of Queen Cutlery attended and brought some of their new Schatt & Morgan Express knives. These are sure to be popular and were well received.

Here are a few assorted pictures. We'll give you as much notice as possible for next year's show. Plan to attend. You will be greeted with Hoosier hospitality.

I forgot to thank the good folks at Knife Magazine for their continuing support of local knife clubs. They sent us a priority package of their magazines for the show.

Maybe next year I'll be able to attend. Looks like a nice show.
