I have to agree. Cheap made knives are yard sale items. My EDC knives are Case, older Buck made in Cal., Imperial, Hammer brand and Schrade. U.S.A. all the way!

Ex-girlfriend: "All your knives look the same."
Me: "All your purses look the same."

Another ex-girlfriend: *sees my tactical knife with a 3" blade* "That looks like a weapon!"
Me: *looks at her manicured french nails* "Not as much as your fingers."

I remember one time finding an older (camillus made) cold steel recon tanto carbon v steel at an antique shop in eureka springs arkansas. I was haggling the owner on the price, in the midst of haggling he tried to convince me saying "you can stab it through a car hood with it". Oh boy! What a selling point. Not sure what he was trying to accomplish with that, but it was funny.

People who say "knifes" when referring to more than one knife. The plural of knife is "knives." I don't understand how anyone whose first language is English couldn't know that.

"What did you get in the mail?" she inquired.

"A knife." I respond.

"Don't you already have one?" she insisted.

"Yes, but not this ONE." I reply.

I always get a kick out of "wow your knife is sharp". Well yeah, what do you think it's supposed to be, dull and useless?

lol lol lol - what is the deal with that. Same exact thing here ... whenever she asks for scissors I just reach for my pocket knife. Women just have a deep rooted association of doing everything with scissors I guess ...

Yep same here. Especially the "Your knife is sharp." one. I never can figure out why some guys carry a knife and freely admit that it's so dull it won't cut. What's the use? ::facepalm::

This was a real conversation.

"Can you open this for me?" said the woman who handed me a clam-shelled package containing a phone charger.

"No problem" I replied. I simply reached in my pocket for my GEC #73. The blade, sharpened the previous evening, zipped right through the plastic. "Here you go," I said as I handed the woman back her goods.

"Thanks. Why do you carry a knife?"

What state is the more appropriate question in my opinion? That might explain it. Usually the associated guns laws and opinions on such will explain such a reaction.

It's amazing when you think about it just how many people have never come to the realization that knives are tools, nothing more and nothing less.

Don't see what the state or her paw has to do with anything. My father never carried a knife growing up. I don't remember him even owning a pocketknife until I gave him an SAK. He hated them, having been mugged at knifepoint when he was a young man. Same thing with guns, he never had any. But he did buy me my first rifle, a BB gun when I was 14.

I think it has more to do with the (in)ability to think.
