Washingto Jack-by Charlie Campagna-#77

Post by Schradenut »

From way back in my early days of knife collecting, i have had a penchant for a knife with Washington Jack bolsters. That is why i was like a blow-fly to honey when i laid eyes on my first 2ot, and from that day to this i have been sniffing out any 2ot that poked its head up.
My thirst for the 2ot is fairly well quenched now, and then along came a guy called Charlie Campagna who through GEC produced an amazing SFO.
GEC produced to his specifications three styles of Washington Jack knives in five different handle materials.
The styles offered were;
1. Spear and pen blades
2. Spear and Harness punch blades
3. Clip and pen blades
These three styles were offered in;
a) Gabon Ebony
b) Smooth Blood Red bone
c) Cocobolo wood
d) Smooth Ivory bone
e) Smooth Autumn Gold bone
With the help of my friend Doug Webber in Spokane, who is my eyes and ears with regard to anything "knives" going on in the US, i have been able to muster a fair swag of these little beauties.
Still looking for a clip blade in smooth Ivory bone and Autumn Gold bone, but hopefully they will happen along one day.
It has been an incredibly enjoyable journey collecting all these, and they are all going "straight to the Pool Room".
Enjoy these pics my friends.
Tony.

Very striking knives. When they came out they were the poor man's 2OT but that didn't last very long. The prices are slowly catching up with the 2OT. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to snag one, even if it is a clip blade with Cocobolo handles.

Great collection of GECs, Tony! Aren't they just the bee's knees? I have two of them. They are 3/16 inches longer than their Schrade CutCo and Schrade Walden muse. And they don't give up a thing to their great grandparents.

Tony, very nice, I got to agree, one of the best looking knives ever made. I have a few and they are some of my favorites. I've got 1 of the clip in second or third cut stag, can't remember which it was and then 3 of the bone spears.

After seeing all these beautiful knives I'd say it's time for GEC to do another run.
