Cool. I like it. I wonder how many variations were based on those blades.

Thanks Jerry. I don't know what all variations were included with these blades; I did find online (and save) this hardware catalog page when I searched for info on my Bicentennial Stockman several years ago. OH

Those are distinctive and interesting knives; I like them. But I don't think any of them (along with the CASE and ONTARIO lines of butcher knives) are "forged" in the traditional sense of the word; those marks are just stamped into the blanks like the nail pulls. But I could be wrong.

Nah. I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts those marks are just stamped into the blanks as you said. Just like they do to the Old Hickory butcher knives.

Plucked a hair and ordered a Kershaw Corral Creek.
Should be here tomorrow or Friday.

Cost me an extra $1.50
but for some reason I like the look of the ABS handles better than the wood.

The one I have, has bone handles. Shame you didn't say you were looking for one.

My pick-of-the-litter stag GEC #13 Speaker Jack is en route. Should be here Friday or Monday if my estimate's right.

I tried grabbing photos but the stag selection process made the pics vanish and I tried to request the photos from the dealer but haven't gotten any response with them yet. BIG fat knobby stag, I'm really looking forward to this one.

My reservation with my first dealer turned out to be 'double-booked' but I got lucky to find some beautiful stag still available at KSF. Can't wait for this one. ::tu::

KSF is only about 300 miles up the road from me so when I ordered my Speaker Jack from them on Friday (I wanted Stag but Muslin Micarta was all they had left), with their lightning fast shipping I almost got it next day. It's sitting on the truck in Oak Creek, Wisconsin (just south of Milwaukee) ready to make the trip south on Monday morning and should be delivered by 1400 or so. The Clerk I ordered from Barry (Gunstock Jack) won't be quite as quick.

Me thinks I picked up a LB8 'Grizzly' and not the more commonly known LB8 Papa Bear. From what I remember reading, when the LB8 first came out in '81 they used LB7 blades and it was called the Grizzly. From the pics it appears to have a serial# below 5k, but didn't want to ask the seller to confirm. Sometimes they add that bit of info to the description after I ask and it tends to drive the bidding up. ::smirk::

Here's my humble contribution. A Case 6217 (loomfixer). The blades aren't the best, but it's got real by golly bone scales and it's hard to find one of these in bone, I've been looking. Occasionally they do show up in bone, but are far past this country boy's pocket book.

Case stopped handling these in bone by 1970. From '70 until the end, '78 I believe, they were handled in pakkawood. I'll get better pics when it gets home.

Oh Cuz. You lucky dog you. It doesn't look like there's anything wrong with the blades to me. I'm envious.

This one is in the mail but out for delivery this morning. Miller Bros. WWI era electrician/radio knife. It's a little worse for wear but was cheap enough to buy to hold a place for a better one. It is a stamp that I don't have. Good handles and nice shield. Anybody got an extra master blade laying around that they don't need??

T.J. were all those military back in those days?

This one had a chance of being here on Saturday if it hadn't taken a side trip to Warrendale, PA. As you can see, it's out for delivery today.
That's Muslin Micarta.
