Latest Voyles Auction
Here is a link to the latest auction by Bruce Voyles. Lots of really nice pearl handled knives.
I have nothing in the auction and am not participating in any way.

I saw that, quite an impressive collection that Dr. Emberton had. Over 900 pearl whittlers, no 2 the same.

WOW - 263 lots grossed $46,594.03 which is $177.16/lot - now that's a lifetime collection.
Some really good buys and some record prices too, I can't wait to see auction 3 of 3 coming in a few days!

I picked up three Stan Shaws in that auction. He had some beautiful knives that are rare and hard to come by.

Those were some very nice knives by Stan Shaw, so huge congrats there! I did manage to win one auction for a pearl Napanoch whittler. So many knives, it was almost overwhelming.Knife Nut wrote:I picked up three Stan Shaws in that auction. He had some beautiful knives that are rare and hard to come by.

Thanks on all counts Lyle. If I get to do another edition, we need to get some farmer's jacks in there! Numerous knife friends chipped in on that book.
I'm looking forward to seeing what is in the next auction. It would be great to spend a day or two just looking at all of those knives in person.

Re: Latest Voyles Auction
Lots to look at, again. I appreciate the time that Bruce and his crew take to describe, grade and shoot pictures of all of the knives. I do wonder what will happen down the road when some of the re-handled knives are sold by their new owners. I also appreciate that he mentions which ones have been cleaned. Just because a knife has been cleaned doesn't necessarily mean I wouldn't want it, but it's good to know. Good luck to the bidders.
