Violet has become one well-traveled and well-used knife! OH

She is an awesome knife fellas.
Sorry I haven't been here giving her all the praise she deserves
Raining today so no pic's.
Glenn, I think it's best if I send her on her way or home to you. With work, school (yes, i'm in school now) and other obligations I haven't really been able to work her and get pics of doing so. She has been in my pocket daily though and took care of every simple task I put her too. She's a real peach.

Sounds fine, cutty!
Go ahead and send it back to me, PM me if you need my addy.
If anyone still wants a run at violet, you still can. I'll give her a quick look, and she can be ready to fondle again.

Our mail-lady Ms. Doris hates to drive down my 1/4 mile long gravel driveway but today she made an exception and I knew why........she had Violet on-board! What a wonderful journal she came with that I hope to add to in a week or so. I've parked all my other EDC's and Violet and I will be getting to know one another intimately as I have the entire week off (yipeeee). Here's a picture straight-out of the box. Thanks to Cutty for the secure shipping and packaging. More to follow. Tom

Well the time has come to share Violet with another member here or maybe send her home....not my call.
I have really come to appreciate her broad shoulders and the feel in my hand. As a utility knife I couldn't have asked for a better one; she helped my harvest all of my herbs as the picture below with the sage shows. I've always struggled with cutting corrugated cardboard but Violet gave me renewed hope that it wan't how I was doing it but what I was doing it with.
As an every day carry she really shined from the simplest of tasks like opening mail to popping-out one of the air-vents in my Subaru to fix one of the fins. I'm really going to miss having those beautiful blue handles in my pocket but at the same time I don't want to overstay my welcome.
Glenn - you are a master craftsman and I truly appreciate the opportunity, where shall I send her next?

I'll throw out an invite to anyone else who might like to give Violet a spin. Let me know if you'd like to try her out.
If I don't get any bites in the next few days, I'll have it sent back home.

Well, after a long spell on the road, Violet is back home. Hope this gal doesn't wander away again.
First off, I'd like to give a big thanks to everyone that gave Violet a test drive. I sincerely appreciated your time trying her out, and your feedback notes that you included.
I was surprised to see that she arrived back in much the same condition as she had left. Of particular note was that there did not appear to be any blade play. Considering the varied people that used her, and some of the work that she was put to, I was kinda surprised. She does need a date with a stone, though.
I often wonder how the knives I work on will stand up to everyday use, this experience has helped immensely. The design was something I wanted to try for awhile. It is only limited by what I could do with the blade, I wish it was a little longer. Any way, thanks again for helping me out!
I think I will spiffy her up and throw her in my pocket for a while.

Thanks for letting us be a part, Glenn.
You created a fine knife. I was proud to get to carry Violet around for a while!

Glenn, this is one of the coolest activities concerning a knife I've been a part of - really nice knife, nice of you to share it so much; you will truly be carrying a big piece of AAPK around with you from now on! OH

I too thank you for letting me be a part of this experience Glenn. I enjoyed my time with Violet and I've enjoyed following her travels since she was with me. If you need someone to test drive another of your creations, I suspect you'd have no trouble recruiting this bunch for another go.

Re: Any interest in a Glennbad knife pass around ?
Thanks again Glenn - it was truly a pleasure. One of the joys of collecting vintage knives is wondering about their history - who originally bought them and why, how they were stored, why they were sold, how they were used, did anyone ever cut themselves with it and on and on and on. Knowing the history behind Violet made the experience unique and for that I feel blessed and honored.
Maybe we should start a trend of swapping EDC's and fund the USPS in the process!

Thanks for the words, everyone, and your participation!
I like the idea of pass-arounds. It gives people access to a product without the obligation to buy it and then possibly find out they don't like it.
Also, it's a good testimonial about the quality of the product, as many hands will touch it and use it, giving more of a sample of how it would be used.
