Anyone Ever See A Camillus Moose Pattern?
Saw this knife on eBay and went Huh? Have I led a sheltered life? I've never seen this pattern anywhare. Not on eBay (until now). Not in a Camillus Catalog. Nowhere. Looks to me like a #20 with swapped out blades. Anyone see something I'm missing?

Jerry here one from 46, the bolsters don't look right? Nice looking knife though.

i have no clue....
but! .....looks COBBLED together to me
one bolster on each end of the knife, was sanded down so much it got into the bolster groove.

Re: Anyone Ever See A Camillus Moose Pattern?
Now that you mention it, the bolsters are not right for a #20. The only thing about this knife that's Camillus is the main blade.

That isn’t a #20 Camillus blade. The #20 has slim clip blades.

Is that your knife Gus? What an old beauty. I'm saying pre-WWII. Anyone want to dispute that?

Re: Anyone Ever See A Camillus Moose Pattern?
There was something nagging at the back of my mind saying that Camillus did make a moose pattern & that is obviously a pre-WWII moose!
I can't remember where I saw one, but I have seen one before.

Re: Anyone Ever See A Camillus Moose Pattern?
Didn't Camillus make a moose for Remington? And didn't they make the same knife in the Camillus Cartridge series?
That may be what I was thinking of....

If it is, it must have been an SFO because it's not in any of the catalogs I have access to. Catalogs and personal experience (slim) the only things I have to make judgement from.knifeaholic wrote:I think its a good knife. I have owned one just like it. I have seen a few other odd Camillus patterns, maybe they were introduced and discontinued in between catalogs. On the moose pattern that I had (this was in the 80's). the guy I got them from was a local knife guy who actually bought them out of an old hardware store. He had three still in the original bulk box. I saw all three with the box and bought one of them. So my guess is it was a standard product knife that was not in the line for very long.

Re: Anyone Ever See A Camillus Moose Pattern?
.........jerry, I've got what I always thought was a moose-it's 3 3/4" closed, cigar pen pattern is what I would call it, staglon handles, double line tang stamp(1989-2007), in mint condition with this blade configuration........have seen 1 or 2 like it on ebay over the years................. ..........................jerryd6818 wrote:Saw this knife on eBay and went Huh?
