Mr.B -- Your pastors Puma White Hunter is 1956-1964. The White hunter was developed in 1956 and I have it stuck in my mind they were introduced in 1957 but, as always, I could be wrong about that last. Edit: Puma Knives were first imported into the U.S. in 1957 by Kurt Gutmann, founder of Gutmann Cutlery Inc.

In the last quarter of 1965 Puma introduced the numbered date code system and most Pumas since then have a date code stamped on it somewhere.

As for value, there is currently a White Hunter on eBay with the same scabbard, with paperwork, with the same box and in the same excellent condition as your pastor's knife. It has just over a day to go and it's currently at $570. Another without the box and paperwork is at $330. You know how it is. Depends on the day and who's buying.

Sorry, I can't help you with the folder.

Mr. Blister, there should be a number stamped on the guard of the fixed blade and a number stamped inside of the brass liner of the folder that you can use to date it. Sorry but I can't post a picture of the Puma chart using my Kindle but if you post the 5 digit numbers I can look them up for you. I agree with jerryd on an estimate of the White Hunter with box and paperwork, the folder (looks like a 675 pattern, I think) could be $125-$150 depending on year made. Hope this helps!

This wont help you if it was made before 1965, but thought I'd post it anyway.

Since that's a 6377 -- The first W/Hunters, model 6377's were made of carbon steel or PUMASTER STEEL as it is called.

As for the Stock Man -- Saw a 1969 #675 with original box that the guy wants $150 for.

Then it should have a date code in or on it someplace.
