Here's a Christmas ad from December 1948 Boys' Life. I would love to have the "Kit Carson Kit". I thought some of you scout knife collectors might enjoy it.

very nice post tank. i was born in 52 and my first 9 yrs were spent in a catholic orphanage. but i can still relate to those ads and the items on them...kids today are too electronic and don't do near as much outdoor adventure as we did...very sad part of progress.

Very cool post tank! At one time I had most of the things in that ad. I have to pick up some of those ol Boy's Life magazines.
I was born in 1953.

Funny thing Mike, but in your avatar photo you look older than that.

Nice, thanks for posting Tank! I have a couple of those sheath knives and the chow kit. But you're right, that Kit Carson Kit would be a sweet find indeed. ::ds::

I wasn't born until 68 but I grew up on the same type of toys. In those days you played outside making our own action games. Nowdays most kids walk around with their head down in a phone or gameboy, never looking up at anything remotely close to nature.
