Ken! How am I to blame for something T.J. said? Hmm? Hmm? You done got the wrong shoe on the wrong foot with that one. ::nod::
Sorry Jerry,I was barking up the wrong tree the other day.TJ,could have known,that sneaky old coot,while half the knifecommunity is cravin for those 72,he heaves one after another roger bone gem out of the bay.And by the lack of competition gets them for a song.I wonder if there is German blood in his veins,they are known for their schemes. ::hmm::

As a matter of fact, three sides of my family are German, Straus, Brausch and Haupt/Houpt/Houp. As far as the quote "the 72................" ya got to blame Jerry for holding on to it and memorializing it.

HERE SNIPE, HERE SNIPE-SNIPE-SNIPE!! HEY THERE'S ONE OVER THERE!! YOU HOLD THE BAG AND I'LL RUN IT TO YA!! 8)
TJ thanks for abstaining and running this one my way. I got her in the bag and I am eyeing some red abalone for her transformation!

Mike, none of the bone handle 72s are all that "common" but the ones like yours are more common 10-1 (that's just a SWAG made up on the spot) than the 1st Generation 72s. It's almost impossible to forecast how much they'll go for when introduced to the market. It's all about condition, condition, condition and timing. With a well written and documented listing that has good pictures of a knife in very good condition, listed this week it could go for $60 - $80. Listed two weeks from now (same listing - same pictures) it could go for $25 - $50. Ya just never know.

My heart always jumps a little when I see Mike (ScoutKnives) as the last to post in Knife Finds Of The Day because of what knife I didn't see or hear of that he bought!

Found this neat camillus advertisement piece today....
One side says "Julius Wile Sons & Co Inc, New York, Sole US Agents"
The flip side says "DOM BENEDICTINE, LIQUEUR, 86 proof"

Any ideas as to the age?

Cool bartender's knife! ::tu::

I believe that's the 3-line stamp that they occasionally used on very narrow or specialty blades but the font they used looks like most of my 4-liners.
