Found this old Marble's at a garage sale today. Searched a little and it seems to be called a Marble's Folding Fish Knife. Pretty decent shape for it's age and it's a genuine MSA Co knife, not one of the later China repros.
It was sitting on a table of 'cheap stuff' and was all folded up, barely noticed that it might be something interesting and when I saw it was a knife I gave her the asking price of $0.25. After getting back to the truck I had the wife read it and she told me 'it says MSA Co and the little blade stamp says Marble's'. Pretty happy with this score!! ::nod::

Hey Trevor,
When was that thing made and how long is the blade? That's pretty neat ::tu:: and the price was just right!

The blade is 3 3/4" and the overall length is 4 5/8". From a couple posts here on AAPK, I think they were made from 1906-1915. Someone posted that they are shown in Dunathan's book, but I don't have it. That age seems a bit off to me, but I don't know much on Marble's. My initial guess would have been 1950-ish.

Bought this little Kershaw DWO 3000 because I thought it was one of the blue varieties. Paid $2.64 not including the $4.64 shipping.

Sellers pictures.

Bought this little beauty because she has good bones and I had NOS secondary blades for it. Paid $1.35 plus $3.00 shipping. She laid here for a few weeks and then took a trip to Missouri to see Whitebuffalo58. Stay tuned. She has gone through a transformation and should be back tomorrow. ::woot::

Today's flea market finds: a 3" Cattaraugus 22739 MOP, no cracks, good snap on both blades $2. A 2 5/8" Case XX with a broken blade, and a small coping blade that is tipped $5. Nice old green bone and the primary blade is still good with lots of snap.

Great buy Scott. Cleavers don't seem to sell for a ton of money but that right there is a nice one.

This old gem was at a flea market in a shoe box with about 30 other old knives. Stapled to the end of the box was an index card sign saying "Your choice - $1.00". Most of the knives were rusted, broken blades, broken or missing scales, etc. I was sorting through them and had already sat this one aside, not believing my luck. I can only guess it was in the box due to the cracked scale on the mark side, and some rust. About that same time the woman working there said "if you find anything in there you like you can have it for 50 cents". I didn't find anything else I wanted but I paid her the dollar for this one, took it home, gently removed the rust and oiled the joints. Good snap on both blades.

Mark side master blade tang stamp is worn but you can make it out with a loupe. Pile side stamps are very good on both blades.

I agree with PigSticker, great find. Don't you love it when that happens? :D The MOP Cattaraugus I found is from Little Valley New York too.

Not a "Dollar Knife", per se, but relatively speaking, this knife's value to selling price comparison should rank right up there with the best of bargains.

This multi-blade knife, with almost certainly genuine tortoise shell handles, sold on Ebay recently for eighteen dollars. ::woot::

If it weren't for that broken glove hook blade, it would rank as an utterly outstanding piece of cutlery.

Still has the spring in the scissors, which is not usually the case.

European manufacture, but still.....

Somebody scored on this one.

Photos will expand times two.
