As I scan through the ebay listings I'm kind of impressed with what I see. These Jap knives have nice bone or MOP handles and really look good, like yours. What do you think about the construction? F & F?
Well I have only unpacked it so haven't handled it much. But it looks great but is a bit rough.

I'll post a review in the appropriate forum in a couple of days along with detailed pics.

The Queen came in the mail, picked up the pacific rim Schrade at Academy sports clearance rack, it's a hunk of steel and bone, shaving sharp out of the blister pack.

I've gotten lucky the last few days and picked up these 2 split back whittlers locally.

Case Saddlehorn in green apple color - single blade version is not as common - really nice and thin, with a rock solid half stop - the swell at the end fills the hand & makes it really comfortable to hold.

Best part is it doesn't have the oddly shaped quasi-trapper blade they usually put on the medium frame Saddlehorns as the secondary blade - that is the one blade design I think Tony Bose didn't get right ::facepalm::

The funny thing is, as much as I live the green bone, have only one knife with green bone scales. ::shrug::
Probably gonna start targeting some Heritage Schrades next month.

It's my first LB7. Never really cared for them for some reason, until I got this one in hand. They are a much better looking knife than what shows in a picture.

That's an early one, maybe first year? I have a 2nd year one minty in box. I think it's in the 90 thousands, I'll have to check later. The lb7 is one of the greatest production knives ever, you get so much knife for the money.

Think I read somewhere Schrade made in excess of 40 million LB7s. I would bet any below the 99k mark is a first year production. Does it have 4 pins? 3 holding the scales and 1 rocker?

The skinner blade? I think that's the best part of the Bose-designed saddlehorns (and my Boker copperheads)!

LB7 # 38188 puts it into the second year of production, 1978. LB7 production began sometime in 1977 and by years end they were up to just over 19,000. By end of 1978 they were up to ~ 212,000.

Yes it's a 4 pin. I was a little off, it's #71261. I was told second year production by the gentleman I bought if from and believe me he would most certainly know.

Good looking hand there ~Q~. I don't believe I've ever seen a Queen in that pattern from that era. S&M, current era but not Queen. Very nice.

My Camillus 18 came today. You have to look at the blade edge under magnification to tell it has cut something but the rest of the knife looks factory fresh. 197x-198x tang stamp and Indian Stag Delrin® handles. Very snappy. I'm very satisfied.
