Help identify the history of this knife and company?

This is a Kabar 1173. Anyone help identify when it was made and the handle material

Curt,
This is relatively recent production. Maybe I should say it isn't an old knife. I notice Cole on the box and they bought Kabar in 1966. I believe they held it until 1996 when it sold to Alcas.
I speculate that the handles are delrin or a comparable man-made product, tho it is hard to tell for certain without holding the knife in my hands.

Thats a good looking swing-guard ::tu:: I almost bid on one identical to it on feebay just last week ::nod::

I had a HOBO that came in a box like that, bought in the early 90's ::shrug::

Looks like delrin to me, too.
Today, I believe my jurisdiction ends here...

I have some Kabars and some Camillus knives from the same time frame with the same delrin handles, so.... possibly Camillus made?
