Any comments on the condition of these two jacks?

What, if anything, would indicate to anyone the degree of "cleaning up" these knives may have gone through? This dealer has presented some very fine SCC knives in the past -- nothing I've seen that was hinky or made me suspicious.
Each of these knives looks like it spent most of its (over fifty years of) life wiped dry and kept in a dark drawer somewhere. Lucky life for a couple of what should have been workhorse jack knives!

Most of the time, I see evidence of cleaning at the tang. I believe that many people clean the blade without taking the knife apart. That being the case, it's very difficult to clean the tang, and evidence of pitting etc. is most likely to be seen there.
This is just my idea, I've never actually cleaned a knife, maybe someone with experience can comment more intelligently.
