Up-load your pics from the camera to "pictures" on your compter and then when you attach the image to the forum topic, load using the thumbnail. Also, what I've found out about using PhotoBucket, is that if you delete a pic from PB it will also delete from the forum topic and add a different pic.

Thanks guys; TJ, that is the way I load 'em, off the thumbnails. FRJ, that is something I need to look at. Guys, I've noticed that if I take a run of, say, 6 picts of the same items, some are larger files than others. I know this 'cause if I hover the mouse icon over the thumbnail, it will tell me the size of the file. Anything over 2 MB will not load. What beats me is why there is a difference; why some are 2+ MB and others are 1.5 or so. Maybe it's just my cheap little Cannon Power Shot. ::shrug::

Jack.

I have had similar problems as I mentioned in an earlier post on this thread. I suspect that in my case it is related to using the macro focus mode on my camera although I'm not entirely sure that is the deciding factor that makes some pics too large. At any rate, if it is a picture I want to show and I get that message saying the file is too large, I've been using this site to resize my pictures. I've had to use it on all of the ones I have posted in the gallery. It's really not too difficult to use, and I'd encourage you to take it for a test run. Here's the link once again.

Best of luck. Hope this helps you.

I had the same problem until I figured out how to resize photos on without going to the website.
I use windows 7 but this shoud work for most windows computers.

1. Go to "Computer" or "My Computer"
2. Click on "Libraries"
3. After it opens click on "Pictures"
4. Find the picture that you wish to resize.
5. Double click the picture until it comes up blown up to full size on a seperate page.
6. At the top left corner or somewhere on the page (maybe in files or edit) look for a "GO TO GALLERY"
find and click.
7. The picture should pop up in the "windows photo gallery" Find Picture and right click on it.
8. A little option bar will pop up after right click.
9. Click on "resize"
10. Resize window will appear. Change size to that desired (640 x 640 is default and usually works good.)
11. Click "resize and save" Go back to "pictures" in the "Library" and you should find the new resized picture beside the original.

This works for me but may not for everyone. ::shrug:: It seems complicated but it's not really.
Hope this helps.

In XP just right click the menu will give you resize, left click and resize. In vista go to windows photo manager and the resize option is there.

I'm gonna put this here because many have asked me what kind of camera I use and how I set it. First off, the camera is a Casio Exilim but not really that important. Any good digital camera will get you great shots. The key is to use the MACRO FEATURE, NO FLASH AND GET YOURSELF A TRIPOD FOR PERFECT SHOTS. I also set the shutter at 400 and also put the camera on a timer, from 2 seconds to 10 seconds, it doesn't matter. You don't need a photo tent or any fancy set up, you just need the right amount of light without too much of it. I suggest taking some shots towards the end of the day when the sun is not so intense. I've taken some of my best pics on the trash can lids at the end of the day. You will need to make sure your camera is set for outdoor shooting or on AUTO. Then set to Macro, NO FLASH and put that camera on a TRIPOD. For darker shots, I use a slower shutter say 80 or 100, camera on the tripod of course. Don't forget to set the timer for at least 2 seconds.
Hope this helps,

Jack,
it's that big bright ball in the sky; it MIGHT show up for you around august, but you gotta look quick for it in your neck of the woods. .............Are the webs starting to grow between your toes yet?
