Yes sir, it is!
Something you don't expect on a Barlow, right?

Here are some more pics I found:
Robeson Daddy Barlow
Hammer Brand shell handled Barlow
Camco sheepfoot Barlow
Case Barlow

Well, I think that is all the Barlows I have that I already have pics of.
I will have to dig out some more & scan them.

You guys keep posting so I don't forget about them.

There are some beauties showing up here! A Barlow is such an elemental tool, simple and sturdy. I love 'em for their simplicity!
The only decoration on a lot of the old ones might have been a signature bolster. Some companies put effort into giving that decoration enough pizazz for braggin' rights. Evidence robesonsrme's Terrier! Here are some more marked bolsters.

Nice Barlows, everyone. Cool pattern, but it never really appealed to me.

I've got a few, but no pics handy. I do have a pic of this one though...

They always appealed to me immensely!! Probably why I have way too many, at the expense of other patterns. Here are some Schrades, and related companies:

I almost forgot about this set of Boker (Before they were Chinese crap), Barlows. I picked up three of them at SMKW when we were in Tennessee last year then had the hardest time completing the set but I did thanks to EBay. A different one for a different type of game each year, a really nice set, wooden handles.

I am noteing that I like the BARLOWS that have some thing on the bolster the best. Even the ones that say BARLOW. I never see other paterns that have the patern printed on it.

Any reason why ?

This is a 2008 Great Eastern in Patriot Acrylic. It was sold exclusively by Smokey Mountain Knife Works. I bought it on Ebay. GEC made a few models with the Patriot theme which included a great Eagle blade etch. Wonder why? The patriotic eagle etch was very well done.

I really like the First Generation Bulldog Barlows. I believe they are very underrated and quite affordable compared to others though I have seen them sell for in excess of $250.00.

I think the stag on the First Generation Bulldog Barlows. is almost always very nice.

The other place I look for the First Generation Bulldog Barlows to have excellent looking stag is the club knives (such as the Old Dominion club knives) and also for the knives that have an S&D Our Best etch with and S&D Cut. Co. tang stamp.

Bulldog had a lot of Barlow parts (at least blades - 1986 English Steel) when Jim Parker bought Bulldog from Charlie Dorton. Maybe they were expensive to build, but another Barlow like the first generation Barlows was never built. The parts (blades) were put into the 3-1/2 inch Bullet Trapper in the second generation. They made between 750 and 800 of them. Lots of folks don't know what they are and they sell for very little - I got a couple for about $25 as my best buy. Here is a picture of one, they are often mis-identified on eBay.

You can see how easy it was to convert them, just make a bolster and handles, then drill another hole in the liner.
