Resizing pics to post

Post by tjmurphy »

Anybody besides me have to resize their pictures before posting? Same pics I've posted before and didn't have to resize.

Only from my phone tj. The desktop view is supposed to do that automatically from a computer.

I'm finding that I have to resize to 50% before AAPK will accept?

T.J. when the forum first changed, there were restrictions on image size (I think 1200x800 but don't quote me on that. Bad memory ya know.) and then Bryan did something and there were no longer size restrictions. Then Bryan did something else and the images were automatically resized by the forum software.

I think the forum software is still automatically resizing them because I've not had anymore problems related to size but I'm nowhere near sure on that. Send one of the images your having trouble with to me, attached to an email so I can play with it and maybe figure out what's going on.

Ok, here's the deal. I made no modifications to the image. I uploaded it just as it came to me using both the manual method and the drag 'n drop method and it loaded just fine. The image does show on my PC as being 1451 pixels X 1600 pixels which at one time was too large BUT since I don't know what Bryan's done with regards to image loading, I've got to go with and I hate to say it, "I don't know. It loaded fine for me."

I will have to say, I just noticed that the software is automatically changing the image size. The image is now 907x1000 and I didn't manipulate it in any way. ::shrug::

On a different chicken, I've got to say, that's a fine, fine example of an early Signal Corps knife. ::tu:: ::tu::

I don't know, Jerry. For some reason it's not auto-resizing my pics. ?????

I think that I've come to the conclusion that the problem lies with my browser. I am using IE9 on Windows Vista. Used Google Chrome with no problems but page will not refresh with Chrome. No happy ending to this problem. :(

No wonder you're not happy T.J. You're using one of the ugliest operating systems Microsoft ever put out. It would be nice if you could find an installable copy of MS-7. It's enough like XP to keep you happy for a good while and comes with IE-11.

Have you tried Firefox?

Good job T.J. Sometimes it's so difficult to discover where the glitch is coming from. I'm proud of ya my guitar plucking buddy.

Tj I have been using my son's old laptop he had in college for my traveling. It has Vista OS and I notice now when I boot up I get a message that Chrome no longer has update support for Vista so as bad as I hate to say it a new system will soon be neccesary. One bright note though, since these notepads and I pads have become so popular the prices on laptops have plummeted. I saw a brand new HP at Walmart the other day for $199. I almost bought it but then thought I might need that $200 for a knife before I get home. Anyway you get my point. They are three times cheaper and do ten times more tan they used to.
