Schrade Walden FrankenKnife

Post by cody6268 »

This was listed as a Schrade Walden Doctor's Knife, but the pen blade has a completely different stamp--I'm pretty sure this isn't a real, made by Schrade knife. Big blade is Schrade, pen is Richartz, and frame (?).

The only part that is Schrade might be the master blade with pen blade & frame coming from elsewhere. I think that is more likely than it being a Schrade-Walden knife with a replaced secondary blade.

Did Schrade ever make a Doctors knife. During my Doc collecting days, I don't recall ever seeing one.

I have seen a few schrade cut co doctors knives, they do exist. All of them were peachseed. I can't remember if they're in the catalogs or not. This one is quite the oddity, I think Roland is correct in that likely the only schrade part is the main blade. The blade looks like it came from a schrade slim stockman or muskrat, not a doctors knife.

I agree with Roland and Paul. Meanwhile, there is a Wostenholm pen knife for sale you-know-where with a Schrade CutCo blade in it.

I looked at all the pictures a little closer. Blade is marked stainless, 825 is on back. It would have come from an 825 RB stockman which had a razor blade stainless etch. Not mine but here's one.
