Another fake Case Tested
Not sure what this is but it's not a Case Tested era knife. Not even sure it's a Case? Stag is too thick and wrong colors for Tested era knife. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CASE-TESTED-XX- ... SwTuJYwhFp
Ken
Edit: it's another of the fakes made from Utica/Kutmaster parts. See this older thread http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kni ... hilit=5347

Another one that looks to be made out of Kutmaster parts. Note the thin blade stock and narrow long pull, in addition to the new thick stag.

Not trying to hijack the thread but it seemed like a good spot to throw this one in. I don't know diddly about CASE knives, but I have seen two mint 6345 1/2 cattle knives and the master blade did not look ANYTHING like this one. This looks like a blade out of an EZ open jack. Thoughts?

Re: Another fake Case Tested
Plenty of these fat stag handle, all blades stamped, long pull Case Tested 47 pattern stockman knives have been sold over the past several years on eBay. I wonder if this fake comes with the tommygg101 certificate of authenticity?
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

I was believing in this knife right up to the point that I saw the spear blade, which was immediately. Well worn secondary blade and punch, handles worn smooth from use, odd shape master spear that looks full but falls very short in the frame. I don't really want to take any time to look at the stamp.tongueriver wrote:Not trying to hijack the thread but it seemed like a good spot to throw this one in. Re: Another fake Case Tested
To add to what Wayne said about it , yes the frame and handles and the two secondary blades are original. The spear master is either a complete fake, made out of an old unmarked blade, or its a welded blade. The tang stamp on the spear does look good. Granted had to tell much about the stamp from the photos, but the blade is wrong.tongueriver wrote:Not trying to hijack the thread but it seemed like a good spot to throw this one in. Re: Another fake Case Tested
In fairness to the original post/ ebay knife, the owner revised the offer that it may be made of non-original
parts. Now the offer is taken off ebay.
I think sometimes people sell items on ebay that have been modified and don't know enough about the
product to understand it had been modified.

Blade looks ok from what I see in the photos but definitely not original to that framebtrwtr wrote:I was believing in this knife right up to the point that I saw the spear blade, which was immediately. The OP knife looks like 70s honey stag to me.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!
