http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Origina ... SwCU1YuXhB

Price: $1,699.99

This is an exquisite Vintage Original MILLER BROS. CUT CO. MERIDEN 5 bladed knive being approximately 3 11/16" long, having brass liners & pins w/ nickel silver bolsters & bow tie shield. The handles are beautiful reddish brown peach seed bone w/ No issues. The blades are carbon steel, still retaining original factory edgesw/ excellent walk & talk. There are 3 places that have very minor pitting from surface rust on the blades that can be seen w/ magnification. I don't think this knive has ever seen use, except for occasional handling !

Look at how far down the tang was ground on that spear blade. Look at the badge on top of the bone handles. The punch blade looks to have come from camillus. I hate to think someone would actually spend good money on that.

Here is an old 3 9/16" 5 blade Stock knife made by Camillus; very worn but you can see it's the same knife. I did have (or still do ?) 4 or 5 of these in much better condion, but this one will have to do for now at least.

Ok, I say we make a rule.....
If you claim a knife to be counterfeit, you have to say WHY it is so.

Here is the ugly sister to this knife that was posted earlier.

Five blade cattle knives are rare and are a great target for counterfeiters. The Forged USA and High Carbon Steel knives made by Camillus and marketed by Sears are nice knives but in their authentic stampings not near as valuable as many other older brands would be. The Sears knives are readily recognized by the propeller shields, tan color Rogers bone handles and blade configuration. Take a close look at both knives and question any such knife that has an old and more collectable tang stamp.

I'll vote for that. Or at least say WHY you THINK it's counterfeit.

One of the knives i specifically collect is the Camillus made Sears Craftsman bone handled Sta-Sharp knives. These were the very top of the line of the Craftsman pocket knives. They are extremely well made often with a little 'extra' to make them stand out from the regular Camillus branded knife. Tweaks could be thicker liners (heavier duty work knives), milled center liners, etc.
They are hard to find in never used condition because those who bought them were the same people who actually used tools. A minty 5 blade Sta-Sharp might go for around $200 (or more) but that's likely low compared to knives with the manufacturer's markings ?
