I think they made that one after the factory moved to China.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

The ONLY case with a blood groove instead of a nail nick, making it one of a kind. Priceless.

Greg, you beat me to it. Saw this one yesterday, red flag went up immediately. Doesn't even look old, doesn't look Case. Stamp is horrible.::td:: ::td::

Sargents 7th does not show a Case and Son But does show a Case and Son"s 62023. No comparison on the blades.

OK I'll ask a geography question. How far is Paris, KY from Tommygg, KY ? I'm guessing they are neighbors?

I have an example of this knife in Goldstone. Pretty sure Tom has one in bone.
Blades, stamps and bone on that one are pretty bad for sure. Maybe I am getting soft and it is pretty late here but the bolsters look pretty similar and they are quite unique on this pattern. Not insinuating the frame is real, just saying.

Great old pattern if it was real. Not a common stamp AGAIN IF IT WAS REAL AND IT IS NOT.

Not a plug to sell but still for sale. Just showing what a real one looks like.

Here is a similar W.R. Case and Sons knife for comparison. Different tail end bolster.

I agree the frame could be original but that in itself isn't much.

I have a 6223 handled in a pretty green bone, with the Case's Bradford stamping. The OP knife is a train wreck though.

Mr. Parker had knives made with older Case markings on them. How can you tell which knife might be a 'home made' fake and one of the Parker knives with a vintage Case marking ?
I know almost nothing about the details of Case history & knives so please go easy if this is a dumb question.

Kj I think Mr.Parker only did that while he was running Case and mostly under the Case Classic brand. Those knives were dated and easily identified. I don't think I have ever seen one of his Olbertz productions with a Case marking.

" I don't think I have ever seen one of his Olbertz productions with a Case marking."

O.K. i thought that vintage markings associated with Case were used on knives 'produced' by James Parker ? But maybe that is only true for the "Case Classics" ? which i think were made in USA (by Queen ?) I have asked this before but cannot seem to get the full picture of Case vs. "Parker Case" knives, meaning knives with Case or related markings, not made by Case.

I really don't know much about the man's character but all of his ventures seem to be shrouded in a veil of fog. You don't think he had a little bit of shyster in him do you? ::shrug::

Shyster or not, there are at least a million knives 'out there' thanks to Mr Parker's drive and fascination with knives.
