Ok, I'll go $25 just to make sure it stays out of circulation.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

I'm afraid that Steve has already disposed of this terrible POS knife. He threw it in the bay where it belongs.
A knife like this could only improve the water quality in the polluted bay.
Let me list all of the issues with this terrible fake knife.
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
That just about sums it up.

This is like waiting on "Paul Harvey and the rest of the story", only a longer wait! I've checked this thread several times a day, hoping for some closure. In fact I still have "the book" opened and my C61050SAB sittin' by my computer .

Well, I got the knife returned today. My goodness how did I ever fall for such a monstrosity!! Not only is the blade a fake, its not even made of real steel!! Even the steel is fake!! The bolsters are made of fake nickel silver!!! The liners are made of fake brass!! In fact the knife does not even actually exist, its a hologram!!!

Well Steve every now and then, just when we think we are at the top of our game, along comes a superior intellect to set us straight.
Unfortunately when dealing with eBay these Mensa plus authorities will come along and set us straight and even when wrong the customer is always right.
He gave up a righteous knife in the process.

I hate to say it but this thread is stupid.......there's no info on how it's fake, just that it is.
I agree with the other guys who agree there's nothing they can see wrong.
Me.....I don't know jack squat about knives, especially CASE, but it is very, very annoying to have claims made that
aren't backed up.

Not a fake but a very nice knife. A lot of irony in this thread but the most irony is a buyer that returns such a fine knife trying to teach Steve a thing or two. He gave up a very nice knife.TripleF wrote:I hate to say it but this thread is stupid.......there's no info on how it's fake, just that it is.

From what I saw in that listing I don't think I could ever get that knife in my hands and feel remorse!msteele6 wrote:The only thing I can think of is a case of buyer's remorse disguised as dissatisfaction.
The buyer's better half probably caught a look at his bank account and gave him a come to Jesus speech.

Please educate me on "EVERYTHING about that knife is FAKE?" I am here to "Learn and Share"knifeaholic wrote:No, no, EVERYTHING about that knife is FAKE. Even the wood that it leans up against is faux wood made of plastic.zp4ja wrote:It is a trick. That knife is fine.
Also stated was: "Even the wood that it leans up against is faux wood made of plastic?"
I would like to see a close-up picture of the wooden lean-to also.
Being a woodworker for most of my life, it looks like real wood on my monitor. It appears to have "wood grain" just like our wood handled knives.
New technology in plastics (3-D etc.) does however place "wood grain" within the plastics now. But, many productions of that process costs more than real wood itself.
Sorry, this is a "AAPK" site. Not "All About Wood Site"

Thanks Steve for turning this frustrating sale into something that made my day. It appears the world is hanging on every word you and Donald Trump say and not patient enough to wait and see what is real and true. I actually looked the knife up in your book before I waited for the rest of the story. I have a knife collection I am eventually going to have to sell as I get older (I'm almost there), but I doubt I'll have the patience to deal with actual public. Maybe I'll just take it with me. ____Dave

Re: Terrible Fake Case XX Coke Bottle C61050 SAB
Ok I was frustrated with an Ebay buyer so I was being a bit sarcastic. Anyway, thought that it might be a learning experience for me to post a good knife and call it a fake. You guys all called it correctly, the knife is real and while I have had mint red bone C61050's this is the first green bone XX that I have owned this close to mint.
Here is the real story. I sold the knife at fixed price on Ebay. Wayne has provided a link to the original listing. Prior to buying the knife, the buyer asked several odd questions that led me to believe that he did not know knives well. Not a problem, I answered his questions and he bought the knife.
He left glowing positive feedback "knife was better than expected". Then a few days later I get this message from him:
Just noticed that the handles on this knife have been replaced. On the front side, the bone is chipped away only, for a smaller pin. Handles have jigging all the way on both handles. And, the nail nick is to low on the blade. The Case xx stamping looks new , as the pattern number. NOTHING on the knife looks original.
Ok I politely told him that I still stand behind the knife as 100% genuine but I will give a refund (which I did).
Just found it odd that a buyer could change his mind so completely. Of course, the first thing I did was to block him from bidding on my auctions.

Steve;
Glad the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth finally surfaced.
Now....Is the wooden handle pull (lean-to) real 100% genuine wood?

Ain't a universe in the universe that would make me look upon a green bone marvel like that and decide to give it up. I'd be hovering over my safe every few minutes making sure it wasn't a dream in the first place.
Can't make 'em all happy, Steve, no matter how hard you try. I'm still glad you post here and give us the benefit of your extensive knowledge and experience.
I hope that beauty goes to someone who can appreciate it better than the philistine who will no longer darken your listings.

Has sarcasm lost its impact on this forum?
Steve sold a righteous knife and the buyer returned it, claiming it was "fake".
The OP was totally tongue-in-cheek sarcasm.
And for what it's worth, most likely, the guy's only problem with the purchase is that his wife found out he had bought another multi-hundred dollar pocketknife.
"Send it back or else", I suspect, was her response.

Re: Terrible Fake Case XX Coke Bottle C61050 SAB
I imagine a number of folks were staring at an obviously genuine knife and experiencing cognitive dissonance (and doubt in their own knife-reading abilities!) seeing as how it was a noted authority such as Steve who seemed to be categorically stating that the knife was a fake. We all were thinking "Well, I imagine I must be missing something" trying to square the statements with the photos. Perhaps this was subconsciously Steve's effort to teach us all to give due weight to our instincts as compared to the claims of any random stranger about a knife?
I think it had its intended effect, and it has certainly been an entertaining thread.
