I thought it looks like the main blade has been restamped. Looks like the last letter is a "k" that's way I called it a Buck.

Definitely an 82 or 83 small coke bottle by Case. Stag handles and well used. Pattern number and blades are correct for the knife.

Thanks guys for your knowledge! AAPK is the best. Thanks for helping me learn. Why does the tang stamp look funny? Or is that just me? Thanks again for taking the time to comment.

It just looks like a lot of corrosion around the stamp and inside the backsprings. Soak the tang and the wells with some 3 in 1 oil for aday or so and scrub the area with a toothbrush. If that doesn't clean it up so that you can see the stampyou can use some 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper to get the corrosion off of the stamp.

I agree the marking is odd does not look like it says "Case". I would ask the seller about this. He is an AAPK member and will give you a straight answer.
I don't know how much experience you have 'knifin' on ebay but the knives listed show a wide range of condition, from very close to mint to so worn out/broken they are no longer usable. Increasing price does not always get you a better knife.
I suggest you look for knives that show little use & with blades still full and with all good snaps and no play. Some of these will fly under the radar and thus sell for a relatively low price. Try to score a few of these.

According to Knifeaholic's book, the stainless blades on the pattern were introduced in 1984.
The tang stamp sure is strange, the last letter might be an X stamped over another letter but the 1st letter is definitely not a C .

10-4 Greg I can see what you are pointing out! Lookin' a little closer, I can probably see block letters CASEXX on the tang!
