Here's another horrible fake from one of ebays prolific seller of fakes. ::barf:: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SCARCE-VARIATIO ... SwZAtXJAna

I think this one may have started out as a Camillus? ::shrug::

Ken, he says it's definitely a scarce version. I would say one of a kind wouldn't you?

I can't tell much about the knife from the pictures but Ibelieve Camillus did make some knives for Case during that period in that pattern with similar handles.
Better pictures would help of course.

Agreed on the pics Tom. Hard to tell but you are correct that CASE did make some "Imitation Jigged Bone" 35 and 45 patterns on contract, some in house and some not. I have the same knife as pictured but not with a punch blade or LP nick. They were also made in XX era, at least the 620035-1/2 and 620035. Usally pretty light stamp, tumble polished.

Again, hard to tell on OP with pics but very possibly an authentic knife. No clue as to seller's past.

Based on the feedback y'all are giving, maybe the knife is legit? Somewhere there's a post from knifeaholic listing the patterns that Camillus made on contract for Case. If I wrote it down correctly the 35 wasn't one of them. So maybe the OP knife is legit contract-made by Utica, or other? ::shrug::

As for the seller: http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kni ... 15#p303511

Ken as for the seller, he would never get the benefit of the doubt if there is even a slight question. I was not familiar with the contract knives and those handles don't look anything like Case's rough black as the seller stated but if it is legit it's pretty nice knife. This happens to me all the time. Youu're just clicking along thinking you know everything and then you find out you don't.

 In my case I'm usually clicking along knowing I don't know much, and then I find out what little I thought I knew is wrong! ::facepalm::

I agree with Steve the knife is a bad fake. I have never seen the Camillus variation of this Case Tested pattern with a punch blade.

I also agree with Greg that first and foremost the seller would never get any benefit of doubt from me. This guy is a scourge to knife collectors.

Jerry, Thanks for posting the real deals.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
