Motherless Queen and a Bad Cat

Post by btrwtr »

Here are a couple knives that a currently up on eBay.

The first is a Queen blade that has been transplanted into an old Schrade Cut frame.

The second is a "Cattaraugus" blade mated with with a wayward sheepsfoot partner.

The seller's ebay name does have the word "customs". Is this supposed to be informing us that some of his knives are "customs", i.e. altered production knives and assemblage of parts knives ?
Is this seller know to regularly sell 'messed with' knives ?
Wayne, how can you tell that the "Queen" has a Schrade Cut. Co handle ? from the shield ? bone jigging is not their peachseed which would make it easier to ID. Note: not all SCC bone was jigged PS.
I am not disputing it being SCC, just asking for the 'clues'.

The Catt. is definitely cobbled together. The post says E2109 but it is a B2109. The pen blade has been replaced with a sheepfoot and the blade positions swapped. The shield is also missing. Posting a picture of a true B2109.

The first knife would be recognizable to a collector of older Schrade Cut marked Schrade or New York Knife Co. knives. Could be a Schrade Cut or NYK frame. I have seen a good number of this type knife frame over the years and do know it has nothing to do with Queen. I believe the blade came from a Queen farmers jack.

Here is a pic and link from a recent eBay auction of a similar Schrade Cut frame.

The "Queen" sold for $127.50 and the Catt went for $61.00  ::td::
