::nod:: BTW it is listed as modern (1970-Now).
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

I think it is a fake Reproduction. AGR i think might own the Cattaraugus branding ? i believe i have seen recent AGR knives marked Cattaraugus. I wonder if this is even an authorized repro. Look at the master blade profile towards the tip, spine & edge both taper to form the point, kind of looks like an arrow head, not a spearpoint blade.

The knife reminds me of out & out counterfeit knives that originate overseas in China, Japan or wherever.

Looks like the same "corn cob" jigged bone that is on the "Case" knives from the same source.

Yep..Russell has owned the Name for a long time.
At first I thought it WAS one of the Russell repro Knives from the 80's(?)
because that's exactly what those Handles look like...but it says Little Valley on the Tang.

thanks Fellas

I enjoy Fakes. If every knife was exactly what the markings happen to say, knifin' would not be much fun. You would never have to think or learn anything. The ubiquitous presence of fakes means we have to learn as much as we can about all the details of every manufacturer's knives, if you want to collect 'all original' knives. And, because so many millions of different knives have been made in the last about 150 years no one can know it all. So, it never gets boring because there is always more to learn.
But i'm preaching to the converted here.

Well that's an interesting perspective there Joe and very true.
It would get boring, so the fact that People have done and still do strange things to Knives
make it a challenge to figure it out!
I love Detective work! ::paranoid::
