What jumped out at me was the nail nick on the spay blade. It seems to be too far from the end of the blade. All the 54s that I have and it appears, all that are in "the Book", the nick is much closer to the end of the spay blade. I may be all wet on this, won't be the 1st time ::facepalm:: .

Can't say that I like it. Stamped on both blades with an open c shield. Stag color doesn't look right and is fat at the liners on the well side. You see way more fake Tested trappers on eBay than you do real ones.

An authentic Tested era trapper 1920-40 drips with character. Here is what an authentic greenbone tested trapper should look like.

That looks like a mini-trapper frame to me. Grabbing Steve's book, he mentions the -07 pattern goes back to the Tested era.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Yes but look again - the mini trapper with California Clip and spay blades was not made prior to 1979. Yes the 07 goes way back but only with standard clip and pen blades.

I agree with Wayne, total fake. As with most fake Tested 54s, most likely was made out of a Queen #19 trapper as the #19 tooling is similar to the older Tested frame 54s.

What about Tom's example of the real thing?? The nail nick is located at the exact point on the spay blade as the questionable knife.

CANTHOK, Olderdogs1's ( Tom ) Tested Trapper is the Real Thing. The EBay so called Tested Knife is a Fake no matter where the Nail Nick is.

Here is the link for this auction. Knife is a poor fake at best. Currently $322 plus shipping with 14 hours to go. No telling how much it will go for.

I always stay far as I can when I see the photos of old brand knives on red background, 99% of the the time they are fake, and the left 1% are modified.
