Just showed up for auction on eBay from young Parker. Other than some Tested era scout patterns that were probably made for Case on contract by another maker, I can't recall ever seeing a Case with grooved bolsters. Other than that I'm not sure what it is (blade shapes?) but just doesn't look right to me. To be fair althought Case did make them I also don't remember ever seeing a Tested era 64047PU before so not much to go on. Maybe some of the AAPK experts can set me straight, or do others agree with my skepticism?

Okay, I'll stick my neck out on this one and say that the main blade doesn't look right, most of the clip blades have a definite angle point on the top of the blade, this one doesn't seem to fit the pictures in the Steve's book. The description says its' length is 4 inches, all in the book seem to be 3 7/8 inches (hey, what's an 1/8 inch among friends ) Also, pictures a deceiving, but it doesn't have just the right tint or hue for greenbone .
I didn't log in under the AAPK Case Expert column, just my unqualified redneck observations .

edit: the box is not mentioned, maybe a prop but kinda' deceiving, seeing how there is a WWW.WRCASE.COM on the box. I don't think they had individual boxes during the tested era.

Re: What's up with this one?
Case did make a Tested 64047PU with grooved bolsters. Not too many counterfeiters would leave the blades in such a stained and pitted condition. Wear looks to be consistent on all parts. I think the knife is legit.

Re: What's up with this one?
Thanks y'all, as always I appreciate your wisdom. Like TF I was thinking the blade shape looked off, but may be the angle of the pics or maybe they're right for the Tested version. Wayne, since you can testify Case made the 64047 with grooved bolsters I'm inclined to agree the knife is legit. For some reason I've grown a liking for the 47 pattern and its variants over the past couple of years. This one will likely be out of my financial league.
Thanks,
Ken

Knowing this seller I'd say it's legit. He does allot of things in the knife community but counterfeit Case knives aren't one of them. Here's a link to more info.

That knife is real. I have seen a few Testeds in the 047 pattern with grooved bolsters.
