Case Tested 5383 Whittler
Seller has this listed on eBay as "Case Tested X (1920-40) Stag Split-back Whittler #5383". Looks to me like wrong shield, (open C, flat top S), wrong frame, wrong blade grind. Probably USA or 70's dotted knife re stamped. What do you experts think? There's more pics on the ebay listing but I was struggling just to get this one posted. Am I wrong?

Thanks Tim. My old PC is on its last legs so been using my phone and my wife's ipad. Haven't figured out how to paste stuff into a forum post using the iPad.

I agree with everything you noted Ken. The rivets don't look spun, gaps between the back springs and the springs look poorly adjusted. Doesn't look at all like a Tested era knife to me.
Scary knife but I'm sure someone is about to put down good money on a bad knife. Happens all the time.

I agree - based on the blade tooling, its a late 70's 6383 that has been rehandled and restamped.

I would say this knife is more than suspicious. Not sure what the handles are but junk for sure.Mumbleypeg wrote:Same seller has several other suspicious knives listed.
