oldwalkandtalkknives fake pearl scout

Post by btrwtr »

Here we go again with yet another fake pearl scout from eBay's most prolific pearl scout faker. As usual he has the knife priced way above the quality of his work. I wouldn't call the shield on this knife an inlay but maybe a laid on glue shield.

Interesting that one of his more recent feed backs as a buyer comes from a seller that supplies pearl slabs. ::hmm::

Wayne, I too thought that was a particularly poor job of inletting the shield. When I first saw this I was sore tempted to send a message to him, explaining that Camillus didn't make any pearl 1047 Scouts but decided that would be a total waste of time and energy. Hucksters like this don't care how many people know it's a phony as long as there is one sucker out there with stars in his eyes and money in his pocket.

Ya know.....I was gonna write too....but you know where hucksters finish?

Hucksters are only hucksters if they're playing the honesty game. And believe me, nowadays......honesty ain't as bigga deal as it used to be....

Helluva custom job though! ::tu::

When a criminal like this guy can maintain a 100% positive feedback on ebay, it tells me the entire feedback system is worthless............just like oldwalkandtalk himself.

That shield looks like it was put on with putty.

I always wonder when I see these floating in the Bay.... why don't they just call it a custom and sell as such. Crappy shield inlay aside. The rest of the knife looks pretty good to me....

Aside from the shield it looks nice. I don't get why he doesn't just sell it as a mod and advertise to do upgrades for folks. Makes no sense. I can't abide a cheat and a liar.

I guess everyone has a different standard.
I think it looks like poor work all the way around.
Ill fitting pearl against the bolsters.
Shoddy job on the bolster pins, and finishing (or lack of) of the bolsters.
Gaps and bad edges on all areas of liners.
I would be p*ssed if I spent money on a "custom" and got work like this.

and the shield... ::td:: ::td::

I have seen some of his stuff look pretty good but this is obviously a poorly rehandled piece. Pitiful.
