Case pearl fixed blade

Post by btrwtr »

Here is an interesting eBay auction that ended at $380.55. I have never seen a Case fixed blade handled in Mother of Pearl. Noted Case fixed blade authority, Bradley Wood, says that Case did make just one pearl handled fixed blade, a M8Finn listed by Case from 1938-1942. The knife in this auction looks to be more of a late 60's vintage.

M5Finn fixed blades with stag handles regularly sell on eBay for less than $150. It would not be hard to change out stag for pearl and end up with a knife like the one in this auction. Although nice looking I doubt that this particular knife started out in life with pearl handles.

If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

I bought one knife off that guy, I would never buy another one. I really don't know one way or the other about this knife.
