Vintage W Bingham Co

Post by btrwtr »

Same seller as the S&M toothpick.

Again look at the stamp, very round letters over some other stamp.

Yep, there is something funny, scroll down his items and get to the Chicago knife co. knife, its very clear someone re-stamped over the original marking

Yes, this seller has quite a few knives listed but do look very closely at any of the "better" knives he is selling. Case Tested toothpick? Really?

When magnified the stamp looks to have been done with a pantograph engraver.Still trying to figure out what it may have been originally.

I just looked at the other knives he has for sale and the only one I can see that is any good is the H&B 2 blade hawkbill.A very unusual knife but he wants $200 for it.
The rest of the knives look as if they have all been attacked by the many celluloid handled knives that are outgassing and most have haeavily sharpened or broken blades.

MrB your German made Bingham is ok.I've had a couple of them with that reddish bone and the same etch.I would guess 50's or 60's.The 2 I had were stockman and I think I sold them for around $80 each. ::tu::

I'm not liking those tang stamp pictures of the originally posted knife at all. ::barf::

Dave: I just got a 1300 page Bingham catalog from the early 1950's and if I recall correctly there is a picture of a knife very similar to that one.I can't post pics from the Fred Flintstone computer I'm using at the moment but will do so when I get my computer back from the fix-it shop.
