Check his feedback as a seller. It's not the first fake he has sold. ::td::

I didn't see anything in his feedback to reflect that. What am I missing ?

Your right Tim.

I think I posted both of those knives in the CF forum as well. Looks like he's trying to give myrtlefaye and tommygg101 a run for their money in eBay fake knife sales.

There are also some of these fake 47's floating around with red bone handles and the straight XX tang. They all have the long pulls. The few I have seen are of poor quality and have the shields sitting on top of the handle. Not sure if they pinned them or not. ::td::
I don't know where they are coming from. It would be interesting to get an address on this ebay seller and find out where he or she is from.

I could Roger, however I still have one similar to that in my collection so don't need another, lol. I just wonder with low feedback if ths guy might be selling his legit knives under another name and pawning his fake ones under the name here.

::shrug::
Just a thought.

I see that from this discussion Tommygg101 has sold fakes before. I purchased 1 knife from him on ebay quite a while ago and his feedback was at 100%. Has this been a fairly recent issue?

Thanks!

I don't find feedback rate on eBay to be an indicator of anything except reasonably good customer service, especially when it comes to knives. If the buyer doesn't know the item is fake, and from the outrageous buds on some of the counterfeit knives it's apparent that a lot of people don't, then they don't know enough to give a rating accordingly. Folks that are able to spot a fake generally don't bid on it. Those that can't spot one buy the item and are happy with it, at least until the time when they learn they've been had. It's happened to me more than once. ::facepalm::

Bottom line, instead of trusting feedback ratings get educated on how to read a knife and spot a fake. You can do a search on this forum for "counterfeit", or just start by reading posts under this topic. If in doubt about a specific knife, post a picture, or link to a picture, here. Counterfeiting is a scourge we all have to deal with - no one will think lesser of you for soliciting opinions. Plus it helps us all get that education. ::tu::

And welcome to AAPK, Slowride. As for that knife you bought from tommygg, if you want to know about it post a picture of it here and ask for opinions. It may be good, or maybe not.

You said a mouthful there Ken. eBay feedback system is biased to say the least.

I agree, feedback has a lot to do with customer service.

Thanks for the welcome - I have been a member, I just haven't posted until now :-)

I have been collecting many years, but this forum has given me good insight on what to look for in a possible fake, so I thank all the guys that post on here.

I will find the knife and post a picture.
