My first conversion ( another TL-29 )

I first want to say THANK YOU to everyone here! I found this place about 3 weeks ago and love it!
Since then, I've tore apart every old gassed out, lost and found, broken and otherwise junk knife I could find!
I was given this TL-29 in trade for cleaning up a couple "good" knives. He thinks he got the best deal and couldn't figure out why I wanted it so bad
I guess he just couldn't see what he was really looking at!
This thing was so much fun to build I can't wait to try another one!
Thank you all again! I know it's not perfect...but I'm happy with it and I owe it all to ya'll. Saw Filer

Man, if that's your FIRST, I cant wait to see your work as you gain momentum!
Looks like ya got plenty of handle material too. Another stag coming up in the future?
A natural talent combined with an addictive habit. Your IN FOR IT now!
Great looking knife, Saw Filer!
Glad you joined in on all the fun here!
...... Joe

Welcome aboard. Just hang out your shingle and get to rehabin 'cause you have it nailed. Good job. You did what most folks leave off, adding a bottom bolster. I think it goes that one step further in dressing up a TL-29. Did I say "good job"? I meant to say GREAT JOB.

to AAPK!
That is nice work, most especially if that is the first time you have worked on a knife.
Welcome aboard!

Thank you Mr. Orvet.
It's not the first one I've ever worked on. I've rehandled and cleaned up a few others before this one. This one's just the first one I've made any significant changes too.
I'll post my others over in the repair section.

Great work Saw Filer!!! And welcome aboard. I think you have a great knife there and it would be hard for anyone to believe this was your first attempt.

Not been around much lately, but I sure like that renovation! The rear bolsters really pop....and I just love the TL-29 retrofits. That blade shape just fits my eye well I guess.
To try something different, I added a cutout on the handle to make it into an eze-opener style on several that I've done. I really like that style, better than the nail nick in fact.
here's a link that shows what I'm talking about. These are just so easy to jazz up!
