Re: Tommy GG 101

I've no quarrel with the members here who are able to go way beyond my limited knowledge about fake or not fake knives on ebay or other sites. What I am puzzled about is the large number of people bidding on and buying these knives at astronomical prices. If this seller is so bogus, and members here...

Kissing Crane dating

I've been away for a while and am getting the handle on the "new" look on the site. Recently a friend dropped an old knife in my hand and said "what is this?". It's a two bladed (looks like) butterbean. On the main blade, (very faint tiny) "kissing crane" stamp above &q...

Since I am probably the least skilled in judging the good, the bad or fake I wonder who is bidding hundreds on what some here are calling fake or mis-labeled knives. He has on his "see other items" several knives that are being bid way up there. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Antique-Case...

That is what I thought - - an up-scale silver orange peeler. Years ago I made some out of hard maple and gave them to un-suspecting people. Once they were shown how it worked they liked them.

Re: GERMAN ROBERT KLAAS BRANDS

On a recent trip to Omaha, my friend brought out a little Canoe - about 3" long closed. It was quite cruddy but had a solid snap. When he handed it to me he asked what the shield indicated. A little oil on my fingertip rubbed off some dirt and revealed the two Kissing Cranes! Now here is my que...

July in Loosyana! It has been the hottest July ever and I am changing my tee shirts about three times a day. I hadn't thought about the sweaty pockets in my Levis being a poor environment for my older case CV folders. Now that it is coming on September the dog days are moving into Indian summer and ...

Wow thegreedygulo! That is a wonderful knife . I have my Grandfathers (on both sides) pocket knives. One is a KaBar trapper of my paternal Grandfather and a Remington stockman from my maternal Grandpaw. These will go to the 3rd or 4th generations very soon. Heirloom knives and other "sharp"...

My Swedish grandmother used this knife for years. She passed away about 50 years ago. My dad inherited some of her treasures, including this knife. Sometime in the 70s he had to replace the shattered Ebony handle. He whittled it out of some hard maple he had. I think the bolster is original. When my...
