Help Identify This Bowie

I bought this knife from an elderly man from Ky. He stated he brought it back from California when he retired. H e live around the San Francisco area. It is a huge knife measuring 16 " overall and a 10 1/2 blade. I has the initials M. H. on the blade.

Here is an extremely rare Case And Son, Little Valley, New York. Stamping used only a couple years before moving to Bradford Pa.

The 6111 1/2 pattern shown is not a Cheetah, although a lot of people call them that. The original Cheetah was a 9 dot 1971 model 5111 1/2 that was in the stag sets being offered by Case at the time.It had the picture of a Cheetah etched on the blade. There is a 10 dot 5111 1/2 but I have never saw...

If the knife you carry would be in your pocket amongst change and keys. I would not go with " yellow" handles. The knife would be scarred up too much. Go with stag or bone. I like both patterns. ::shrug::

I think burnt or torched stag, is the process that gives the stag it's colors. Second cut is a jigging process after a piece of stag has been cut and there is almost smooth stag left. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. knfmn

This is a well made knife and really looks good...I think I may have shown it here before. It has Calidad on main blade and has a bow and arrow on other blade.
