New knife won't sharpen??
Howdy folks. Long time, no see. I have a new knife that I want to carry, because it was a gift from a good friend. It is a Moore Maker trapper, with pretty white bone scales. The problem is the edge. Re: Oh my goodness, he has a knife!!
Like Mumbleypeg, I was stopped at a Fort Worth football stadium before a high school ball game. I had to take my Case trapper back to the truck I drove. Now, that posed a problem for me. You see, I am a football coach, and my job in the press box each Friday night is to log and chart offensive forma...

She is awesome! Very Bonnie Raitt-ish but in a good, non-imitating sort of way. If that makes any sense.
Jethro all of these songs and artists you are sharing are fantastic. Much better than the junk I hear on the radio these days.

Re: Appalachian Music he Way It Should Be Played
I had a cousin who got carted off to North Carolina when she was married in college and when they came back to visit her husband brought back a dulcimer. He played some old timey songs like these. He wound up going to numerous festivals over the next few years and unfortunately some of the women tho...

Re: What Do You Do For Your Bread and Beans?
Great topic, great stories. What do I do for my bread and beans? First of all, let's talk about my unpaid job: Well, now, I started out working in the garden with Mama and Granny when I was just a little shaver. Then I started working with Daddy and Papa down at the cattle lots. Pretty soon I was a ...

Yep I see the two 93s now and the one 97. These doggone bifocals! ::dang::  I almost made the same mistake once when I was in the market for a 97 for myself. Luckily the owner of the pawn shop was kind enough to inform me that I did NOT have a 97 in my hands but a 93. Even more luckily he had ...
