Re: April 2017 AAPK Knife Giveaway

After reading my initial post again, I realized it has room for misinterpretation. To clarify, I purchased the knife back from the previous owner as he was reducing his collection, it's an unused knife.

Thanks again all.........good luck.

Re: Stagmuk.................

Thank you gentlemen! This was my first stag scaled fixed blade, I learned a few tricks about stag on this one. That stuff is not cheap these days and one has to be real careful not to quickly go into the red on a knife build by screwing up some scales. Even the stag tapers have gone out of sight in ...

Stagmuk.................

This Sambar Stag Nessmuk skinner went to Chicago. It's made from S35VN stainless steel, 4.5" convex ground blade, tapered tang with black G-10 spacers and mosaic pins. Buyer requested the treble clef makers mark and the pins. It was my first time using mosaic pins.........it was interesting.

Right tool for the job...............

This skinner went to a gentleman in Texas. He posted a couple of videos on another site and titled them "the right tool for the job". It's made from 52100 carbon steel in the typical skinner fashion, buffalo horn scales with white liners. He's very happy with it. Video link: https://www.yo...

Re: 2nd walrus bone skinner.............

Thanks Mel! The blade is .174-5, it's not real thick but I generally like them around .125 for a hunter/skinner. This gentleman that's buying this one prefers a heavier blade. Exactly, the taper helps balance the knife (plus it looks cool.) Some folks skeletonize the tang some taper. This bone is a ...

2nd walrus bone skinner.............

The Texans are keeping me busy making skinners! This gentleman saw my last walrus bone skinner on Blade Forums and hit me up for this one. He likes a little heavier blade than I prefer myself, but hey, that's just me. This one is S30V stainless steel at 61rc, 8" OAL with a 3.75" blade and ...
