Olsen Knife Co Howard City Mich
Quite some time back I was gifted some Olsen ephemera from a kind member here, and as I finally got my scanner working I thought I'd share it all here for others to see as well. Quite a number of images so I hope no one minds starting a new thread for it. Please share any Olsen knives or material yo...

Re: Queen City with early thumb stud
Thank you to everyone for all the kind words and thoughts about the knife! :D I tried emailing queencutleryhistory.com to see what they might know Very cool, I have never seen one of those either. Does the blade have a lighter pull to make it easier to open with the thumb contraption? Does it still ...

Queen City with early thumb stud
Has anyone seen a thumb stud like this on a Queen City or any other knife before? A recent pickup of mine that seems to be in pretty good shape only having honest wear and pitting, doesn't seem to have ever been apart or altered as far as I can tell

Re: GOT SHIELDS?
Got Shields? Have I ever got shields on this knife! Six to be exact! Seems like a real gamblers knife with each of the suits represented in three shields of either copper or nickel silver on both sides of the genuine ivory handles. Never seen one like this before, I'd be interested if anyone knows a...

Very interesting stuff, its always neat to find info that gives you insight into the company and sales process. Those pieces and documents would look good framed up together in a shadow box sort of thing.

Japanese Switchblade used in Korean War
My grandfather purchased this knife while on leave in Japan around 1952. Interestingly he was never issued a pocket knife by the military, which is why he found this one. It opens by pulling the bail horizontally and releasing the blade held in by the tip and propelled out by a coil spring. I tried ...

Re: Who EDC's rare or vintage pocketknives?
I sometimes carry rare/vintage knives, but if its a very old knife in mint or unusually good condition I don't. There's thousands of beautiful and interesting old knives out there that have been used (and many more new ones) to leave the few old survivors that haven't been used that way. To me the i...

Unknown Custom "Estel" Brass Handle Coke Bottle Hunter
I was perusing knives the other day and found this one among a bunch of junk tacticals. It seems to be a custom made by someone reasonably competent in metal work, at first I thought it was a customized factory knife, but after looking it over it seems to be 100% custom. The blade seems to be made f...

Re: Swell centre Taylor's "Eye Witness" age?
I would hazard a guess of 1870's or perhaps a bit older based on the stamp, style of the tangs and the overall look, but perhaps others more familiar with the Taylor's brand will know more. Very pretty old knife

Re: An Old quality made Japanese knife Sakai & Co
To revive a very old topic, I was able to find another one of these, so now at least I know it has not been worked on and is indeed of Japanese origin. The second knife is marked NYMCO JAPAN. The pearl on this one is even better, with the same unusual construction as the first.

Rusty Relic found in the backyard
I found this picking raspberries in my backyard. Anyone have any idea how old this remnant of a table knife is? Genuine bone attached to genuine rust. I'd love to see some photos of similarly decorated handles if anyone has any, I know decorated bone handles were popular for quite a long time, but h...

Recommend Me My Next EDC
I've been grieving the loss of my old Benchmade and Kershaw EDC knives for a while now, but alas they have not reappeared so it seems it's time for me to shop for a new one. Eventually I have my eye on a GEC for a traditional carry, but I'm in the market for a modern style pocket clip lockback type ...

Re: COCA COLA SPECIAL
It seems like you have the details of the knife down pretty well, if anything I wouldn't adhere to the dates you've given as strongly, most trusted sources indicate the Kastor clover trademark was used well after 1907. Coca Cola had a variety of different knives made for them in Germany by Kastor, t...

Re: Wharncliffe Knives
I used to have a true split backspring tiny hawk bill jack knife of all things. It had a tiny sheepsfoot or hawkbill blade and a quill/pen blade and had a horn handle. It was under 2 inches long. I think it was a custom order from a cutler for an unknown specific purpose. No idea why one would make ...

Old knife boxes for trade
I bought a big pile of these old boxes to get a couple of em. I don't need all the duplicates so I'd like to trade them all for a knife! :D I like old knives and new knives, traditional and some tactical as long as it isn't too wacky. Just about anything! One box is missing the bottom, they all show...

2013 Northfield 85 Bullet End Liner Lock. Smooth Ivory Bone. Could be the new all time favorite pattern. Used to change out every day or every other day, now I carry this for weeks at a time uninterrupted. Love this knife. Tight lock up, better than all my 72 Lock Backs, they all have play, this ha...
