Thanks, justold! Thats a fine looking Mini-Skinner you got.

You know...I try to stay away from Jim...but eventually he sucks me back in. He's devious.

Northwoods TG-1

http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa273/jmarcinek/knifepix/NorthwoodsTG-1.jpg My new Northwoods TG-1, from "Forensic Jim" Davidson of Raisin River Knives. I sure you know he doesn't really sell knives...he suggests them. He's got beautiful knives, his service is great, and he's a really ...

Re: Keen Kutter

Yikes, upnorth! My wife loves jet and has a couple of nice knives of her own.

A jet handled knife might be a "perfect storm"!

Re: Keen Kutter

It was also used in jewelry as a substitute for jet.

Which is how my wife stumbled across the knife. She was looking for gutta percha jewelry. And she bought it for me.

It was a win-win! She didn't buy more jewerly...and I got a knife!

EKA Slippie

In addition to the Keen Kutter in the other thread, also came into this pretty little engraved EKA slippie. Again, any info/comments welcome...especially as to what the pattern is called...is it a lobster? Thanks! http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa273/jmarcinek/knifepix/engraved004.jpg http://i19...

Keen Kutter

Just came into possession of this Keen Kutter, in what is, I believe, gutta percha. Nice knife...really walks and talks, has a solid half stop... The tang stamp reads E.C.SIMMONS KEEN KUTTER ST.LOIUS MO. Any info/comments welcome. Thanks! http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa273/jmarcinek/knifepix/g...

I agree with you texastony! I have a Ranger Afghan (basically a drop point RD) and its a great knife that I love, but I wouldn't try to fillet a trout with it!

Maybe chop a trout in half!

I've never heard ANY complaints about RAT texastony!

Though, good arguments can also be made for Ranger, Bark River, Fallkniven, Busse, etc being the best non-custom outdoor/tactical fixed blades out there.

They're all great knives...Kinda a Ranger fan, myself.

I have seen them before, Jim, and they make nice knives at great prices!

Their website had been down and I was worried they had gone out of business or something.

Its great news to hear and to see that they are still up and running.

Thanks for the update!!! ::tu::

That is one unfriendly looking knife, Mitch. :x

You think some yellow delrin scales would make it more friendly looking?

Probably not!
