Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
You people find such interesting knives! ::tu:: Here is a Linder & Co cattle knife I picked up for the price of a pint of brew… :D It was suffering from rust, a notched tip, a crescent shaped bone crack at the pile side center pin and general crud everywhere. I liked the heft, triple back sprin...

Re: Camillus Boy Scout knives
I have this very nice old example of a Camillus Boy Scout style knife - Tang Stamp indicates late 1930's early 1940's : pre Dating the Official Boy Sout Knife launched in 1947. I would like to make a belt pouch for it and keep it as authentic looking as possible. However it seems from my reading the...

Re: Stockman Knives
Stockman Pattern Years ago I just collected any knife that caught my eye. Then to put some focus on things I settled on the good old Stockman Pattern I have had (literally) a couple of hundred of them. I've sold off a few lately and more to go but of the ones to keep, it made me think.... "wha...

Re: SHOW US YOUR PUMA KNIVES/TOOLS
Treefarmer These Stockmans are 3 3/4" and you are right about the Red it really "Pops".
That 260 is Classic Puma and like the Buck 110 has been copied by everyone, we used to see them regularly in Australia in the 80's (?) but not so much these days. Great find for just $5

Re: SHOW US YOUR PUMA KNIVES/TOOLS
Puma .... Reviving A very old thread I found in my searching In my quest to gather lots of Stockman Pattern knives I found these 3 beauties from Puma a few years ago. Reading through the thread it seems Puma is a Brand that is known in the USA but has never managed to snare a large share of the kni...

Re: CASE BROTHERS....NOT!!!
Thanks Ken for the informative reply. I guess I forget there are 330Million of you in the States and a sizable knife buying population
There's only 26 Million of us Aussies in a country the same size.
We kind of like it that way with plenty of elbow room

Re: CASE BROTHERS....NOT!!!
Enlighten me please someone ? I can't see any profit in forging a knife that would probably sell for less than $100 (Guess) Someone had to either source an old genuine stamp or have one made which wouldn't be cheap. Then find a donor knife & blank blades add a 'Case' shield then put the whole th...

Kershaw 4150 Early Production
Guys I have a 4150 in a presentation box that was given to me as a leaving gift when I left a job in 1974 Which makes it a very early (first year) production knife. I'm very certain of the year (1974) becasue I'd moved from New Zealand to Australia in July 1973, got a job, worked for a year then lef...

Re: Let's See Your 112s!
Some fine 112's on show here. The first 112 I got was by default, I went in to buy a 110 but the shop was out of stock so ended with the 112 and now I have several. Two on show here my 'working' 112 and one I customized after discovering the 112 blade is very similar to a Lanny's Clip. DSCN4452 (2)...

Re: MODIFIED SCHRADES
6OT Lockback A while back Schradenut gifted me this knife in is 'as new' condition except for a crack in the Delrin handle near the lanyard hole. (Schrade sure didn't leave a lot of room there) I slimmed down the Bolster added some Walnut handles that taper out from front to back and instead of a l...

Re: The 123OT, 124UH and SC524 "small pocket hunter" got any?
I have had several 123's over the years. The very first one I wore out, it was constantly on my hip over several years travelling all over Australia. This is my current user around the farm easy to find it I put it down somewhere. Left hand carry, horizontal so it is out of the way when I am in and ...

Re: #3L in Antique Bone - any insight ?
Thanks Very Much Josh - great info
Edit, I checked in with the original owner who tells me it was bought new from TSA in 2013.
It could have sat on a shelf at Queen or TSA for years of course but it's an indication at least.

#3L in Antique Bone - any insight ?
G'day All, Just picked up this S&M (File and Wire) #3L in antique bone with a couple of features I've not seen before. The Jimping on top of the blade and extensive engraving on the inside of the brass liners. If anyone can throw any additional information at me such as a rough year it was made,...
