Re: Rough Rider Damascus lock back
I still have one. I bought mine from Smoky Mountain knife Works, and I remember they were sold out of both sizes very quickly, and never had another supplier. This is the smaller one, and a phone knife to get out every once in a while. I really like the drop point blade, and it gets sharped easily. ...

A Delrin handled 879 I snagged on eBay arrived yesterday. Slightly used blades, and I cleaned up the handles. A very traditional pattern. Shown with an 861 and 883.

Re: Schrade Cut Co Salesman Sample
An early mentor of mine in collecting told me there would be times when a knife comes around. A once in a lifetime piece. I followed the directions when I could, “Get on it like a rash.” I think this knife qualifies, if one has deep pockets.

Just in case somebody is looking for the link to Roland Procter’s obituary, here at the end of the thread. He was one of my first knife collecting friends when I started in 2007. We were good friends on both here and BladeForums. He would call me frequently with Schrade questions, and photos of his ...

Re: What is Your Latest Old Schrade?
A small Schrade Cut Co dogleg, just over 3". Typical great Schrade bone, full blades, good pulls and snaps. Don't recall seeing this pattern all that often, I guess it might be considered a peanut. Sweet little pattern, these doglegs are definitely in the shape of a peanut. This 295K is one of...

Re: What is Your Latest Old Schrade?
First time I’ve seen this little whittler with a 3 1/4” frame. It’s an old pattern. All blades stamped. I’ve shown similar examples from the 1932 and 1938 Schrade Cut Co Supplements. The husky little clip blade with a long pull is a real treat. I’ve also displayed the 837 and 804 Schrade Walden s...

Date of MFG?
I recently got this little 3 3/8” jack. Faux stag with crossed swords stamp on front, 4 line Camillus stamp on the back. Nice steel, sharpens up easily. Does anybody know a range of when this particular knife was made? It doesn’t seem like it’s Delrin. I kind of liked different handle look. CA870281...

Re: Stockman Shield
It’s a matter of preference, and I am the collector. I see preferences both ways, I just happen to like shields on certain pocket knives. I am not thinking of it as a value decision. No shield is for the pile side! Certainly shields do not ruin knives. Appreciate the replies. D99B6E78-18D0-493D-BD27...

Stockman Shield
Anyone have a good nickel-silver stockman shield? This is a 4”, square bolstered, long pull Camillus made stockman. 40’s or 50’s vintage. I’m thinking a crest shield, but would entertain other ideas.

Still find a nice knife every now and then. This is an Imperial Frontier 4421 premium jack. Nice old pattern with 1095 carbon steel blades, with a pretty satin finish.

I have the 124UH almost new. I’ve had it for quite some time. It is a lovely size, with a lovely blade.

I searched an 879 for the duration of my eBay days, never scored one, and rarely saw one offered. Never a minty one to bid on. Usually a search would bring up a 897UH.

Re: 895 vs 825
Jumped on AAPK for the first time in quite a while. Good to see familiar faces discussing the slendereeno pattern! I still have several of these, always a favorite. I remember having a K-77 new in the tube at one time. And mint bone covered 825 and 895 or two. As a tribute, I sprung for an example o...

Found the stockman to go with the gunstock Jack. This stockman does have the ATS 34 etch. I have wanted this particular stockman for a very long time.

So I guess some of them have an ATS-34 etch on the blade and some don't. I’ve always liked this series.

Schatt and Morgan Series IX
I have a Schatt and Morgan Series IX Gunstock Jack. I thought this series was supposed to be a ATS-34, but mine is missing that portion of the etch. Anybody have any thoughts? Were some made in this series with another stainless steel?

Re: The schrade 3 3/8" junior cattle knife.
This is one knife I managed to hang onto. It is not a Schrade, but rather a Craftsman Sta-Sharp 9518. I always admired the Jr. Stockman pattern. Surprising that it fell out of favor from most knifemakers lines. One of many favorite knives I've owned. Not sure how old this one is, but likely made by ...

I forgot those whittlers. Thanks for that information.KnifeSlinger#81 wrote: The 836, 837 and 804 whittlers has saber mains, as did their previous cut co versions. The 804 eventually went to flat ground I think.
